Luke's Leg
We don't officially have a diagnosis, but we have a few more answers with Luke's leg...
It all started 3 months ago when a dad and his kid jumped into a soccer game that my kids and cousins and some of my brothers were playing at our family reunion. This dad turned around and plowed over Luke and fell right on top of him, all his weight. Luke hopped up and said he was fine and was running up mountains and the RB stairs later that day. The next day he said it was sore, we thought it was just bruised. The rest of the trip he didn't complain. He went hiking, swimming, jumping.
On and off for the next 2 months he would randomly complain of his upper left leg hurting. It got so bad sometimes that he would start to limp. We thought it was just maybe still bruised and needed some rest. Well soccer season started and he came back from his first practice limping. So I finally took him in to get a X-ray - it looked great. There was some movement limitations so they decided to give him a MRI. Two weeks later we get the MRI. There are signs of swelling on his upper left femur and a little on his actual hip/pelvis bone.
We saw a orthopedic specialist yesterday and he thinks that his bones got a little crunched in the original accident. He said kids bones usually bend more then having stress fractures and they think it got a little bent and that it's just taking its time to heal. They have him on ibuprofen round the clock for 10 days to try and get the swelling down and hopefully his body will continue to heal and he can play sports again.
A little crazy but we are glad it wasn't more serious as his first doctor originally thought. Of all my boys to tell to not play sports and to calm down. He's the one that needs it the most. He's being obedient though and was super bummed he couldn't play soccer this season.

Oh man how scary! When it comes to my kids I am so one of "those moms" who wants to call the Dr. 247. When it comes to me though? That s another story.
Hope he is feeling better soon!
And totally random, but I had a dream the other night that you, Camille, Andrea and I were hanging out. It was like old times, except now as Moms. I would LOVE it if we really could hangout sometime! :)
Poor little guy!! It's so hard to see our little ones in pain and not be able to do anything about it!! Hope he heals quickly!
WOW, who would have thought? I bet at first you were like...mmmm, i think ur fine! And now... It's so hard to tell with kids.
I hope he feels better soon!
We love you Luke! We hope your leg is feeling better soon. Ronny will be there this afternoon. You'll have to remind him to not ruff house too much with you.
Wow, scary. I'm always the one saying suck it up, you're fine. Hope he's feeling better and everything turns out alright.
