Darin's Bday Week!

Darin is my go getter.  He is always thinking up of ideas and when he gets one in his head he will not let it go until he has done something about it.  He is a determined little boy.  He had been planning his Bday for months and managed to have a birthday week instead of just one day. He knows how to work the system.

Although, the day before his bday he was throwing rocks in the backyard at his brother and broke a window.  Little stinker. Thank goodness for awesome landlords, I made him write an apology letter and offer to pay for it. 


His actual Bday:

He woke up to a present of a cereal he wanted to try.  He went to school like always.  But his cool mom showed up with Tagg & Lydia and McD's for him for lunch and sat with him and his buddies and ate lunch with him.  He was star student for the week and got to share a poster he made.

He opted to have his bday dinner the next night when Rees would be home, so he got a good dinner that night and opened up presents.  Now Darin really wanted a really expensive Lego set, so we gave him money for it.  I dug up some hand me downs Darin has been wanting for church. 

He has wanted a white shirt that fits him better and a suit.  So I found them and put all the "new" clothes in a bday bag for him to open.  He was so excited.  This kid is going places.

The day after his bday he got his bday dinner.  As I was making it, it seemed like something a pregnant lady would request. :)  Poppyseed chicken, lemon jello (he wanted to try it), pickles, chocolate milk and homemade wheat bread with butter and honey.

Darin requested a icecream cake again.  Cookies and cream, vanilla with carmel and pretzel M&Ms.

I love this boys' smile! 

The next day after that was Friday and I let him have a little playdate/party with some friends.  He is the only one begging me for playdates with his friends.  He wanted to play star wars and watch a star wars movie...so that is what we did.

We tried to watch a Star Wars movie which consisted of boys jumping around and screaming. 

Then they all went outside for a ice cream parfait that Darin requested.  They had fun.

The next day Jared and I took him out for lunch at DQ and went shopping for his Lego set.  He made a deal with his brothers that if they gave him money they could play with it.  He managed to do some extra chores too to earn the last $10 he needed.  He is very determined.  We couldn't find it for the price we had priced it at so he learned some patience waiting for it in the mail once we ordered it online. 

Then it came...

He was sooo excited!  

This is just typical Tagg, so I had to add it. He is crazy.

Life As We Know It

Here our a few of the happenings around here...

Lydia loves to take my bra and pretend to wear it...oh boy!  We are starting young here.

For my nephew's Angel Day the families in UT always get together and do a service project.  So our family decided to do some indexing as a service project.  The boys did pretty well.  Thinking of you Beck.

Lydia has a slight obsession with shoes.   She always wants hers on and if she doesn't have hers she will go from closet to closet until she finds some. And then she will put them on and walk out to show us. Can't wait till she is in high school!

Lydia has been doing more girly things, so I often find myself taking pictures, because it's so foreign to me...I love it! She is changing her stuffed bear's diaper here.
