Halloween Festivities 2011

Halloween came and went. I'm not a huge fan, but we had some fun. It all started with the much anticipated FHE of carving the pumpkins. The boys each had a pumpkin that they were in charge of. And of course Dad and Mom do a lot of the work.

Tagg was excited to get the "guts" out.

Gutting away.

Darin was proud of his...Jared did all the carving, but Darin loved it!

Jared and I went to an adult Halloween party that was awesome. We reluctantly pulled together some costumes within a half hour and came up with Popeye, Olive Oil and Swee' Pea. Lydia sealed the deal. We actually won best couple's costume!

Miss Lydia was a princess during the day of Halloween...because she could be!

After deciding on Woody for Tagg he changed is mind last second to Thomas. Done.

Darin has been on a Batman kick and we borrowed this costume from some people at school, that we were so careful with until Rees bounded through the room and stepped on the mask shattering it...that was my moment of hating Halloween. We taped it up the best we could for Darin, apologized to the people we borrowed it from and had to buy a whole new costume to get a new mask...Rees footing the bill.

Luke was Jengo Fett and borrowed this costume as well.

Rees was a nerd and created his own costume.

The Boys

The boys and princess Lydia

Lydia transformed into a ladybug for the night festivities. Much warmer.

The crew again

We lit the pumpkins and headed off to trunk or treat at the church and then did some trick or treating around the neighborhood. Jared missed most of it as usually since he was at work. Maybe that's why I hate it too...I'm always dealing with the chaos by myself.

Then they went through their loot. Tagg's was gone within 2 days!! It was a good Halloween and the costumes were less stressful since we borrowed most all of them.

Fall 2011 Soccer

It was that time of year again for soccer. We had 3 in soccer this time!! A lot of practices and games but we made it. The boys had fun and learned a lot this year.

Rees - Falcons, Darin - Lizards, Luke - Cobras

Luke going in for the kill.
We spent 4 hours straight this day at the soccer fields...crazy.

Luke going for the ball, he mainly played defense.

Tagg trying to entertain himself with a stick.

Mom and Lydia
Gotta love nursing in a camping chair while watching a game.

Darin was too cute in his soccer uniform. He is at his first game here and was excited to see a boy on the other team that he knew from church.

Goal kick. Look at that leg!

And soccer wouldn't be soccer without oranges.

Love these two. Rees is so good to Tagg.

Rees far right.

Rees #9 going for the blue ball. He played mid. midfield and got a lot of action. He played pretty well this year, not sure if he wants to keep doing it though.

I secretly love that my boys are in sports even though the schedules are crazy. It's the tomboy in me.

Quick Stop

If you read my last awesome post I mentioned I flew to Utah. Our good friends, the Bjarnasons, lost their sweet baby boy and my good friend and I flew up to Utah for a quick trip for the funeral. I stayed with my sister the first night and hung out with them for conference the next morning with an amazing spread from her in-laws. Thanks Dietrichs!

Watching conference: Trevor (my bro), Janene (my sis), Jenna (my niece), Geoff (my bro-in-law)

It was the first time I saw my niece, Keira, and it was the first time my sister saw Lydia. They are about 6 months apart. Cutie pies.

Uncle Trevor

Grandma Ruth and Lydia.
I also saw Jared's fam as well. They were having a big family dinner. His grandma happened to be in town and got to meet Lydia. Most of his family got to meet Lydia for the first time. In fact as I walked through the door his sister grabbed the carseat and said, "Lydia's here!...oh, and Stacey too!" I love that family.

My cute niece holding Lydia.

My brother Stephen stopped by to see me with his cute family. He's holding Lydia.
Side note: his daughter on the far right, Audrey, looks almost exactly like me when I was little, weird.

The next day I went to the very sweet funeral. The Bjarnasons are amazing people with such great strength and faith. I know the Lord was lifting them up that day. I didn't take my camera out at all, but there are some amazing pictures here. Love you guys!
