Firsts

It snowed for the first time here in WA!  The boys were so excited since in OR it barely snows maybe once a year.  Of course they don't cancel school here like the boys are used to, so they got everything ready to go then headed outside to play before school started.  Although Rees had to catch an early bus, so he didn't get to enjoy it.

First time Lydia fell asleep on the floor.  She didn't sleep well the night before and was playing with Tagg.  Tagg ran upstairs and said "mom Lydia is just laying there, she might be dead!"  I ran downstairs thinking what?!  Did she eat something...no she was just tired and fell asleep. :)

Lydia's first ponytail.  She has some cute curly hair, but after some bedhead it's kind of a mess and the other day I attempted to pull it up.  It lasted about a minute, but it was cute.

Trick or Treat

Halloween went a little smoother this year.  Thank goodness.  Jared was home for all festivities...yeah!

FHE pumpkin carving.  We opted to get small pumpkins.  We got one big one too, but it started to rot so we just did the small ones...easy. Rees and Tagg were a team - don't ask what Rees is wearing he got into the costumes and he thinks he's cool.

Luke and Darin were a team.

  This year I had Darin's costume ready to go, Tagg was easy, Rees and Luke I told them if they wanted to go trick or treating then they had to come up with a costume with what we had.

Luke wanted to be a hobo.  When he asked what he should wear I started listing things like, old beanie, holy pants, old shirt and then realized that was pretty much what he was already wearing.  How sad is that.  He decided to go as a ninja. 

Rees - Secret Service Agent - he did this on his own, even the pipe cleaner ear piece!

Tagg didn't want to dress up, but once I told him that he couldn't get candy unless he did, he decided to go with the easy on and off Thomas the Train from the year before.  Done.

I refrained from buying her a cute princess, or girly costume.  She only wore her costume for some quick pictures, she didn't go trick or treating.  This is what we had...I just tied pink bows on it to make it more girly. :)  

The boys voted Jared to take them trick or treating.  Awesome!  Lydia and mom hung out at home passing out candy.  It was a more relaxed year. 

The boys had fun, they got lots of candy, and life was good.  Happy Halloween!

Poop Happens

And I'm not just referring the the elections...I had to go there, sorry.  I just can't believe America is that out of it to re-elect someone who has slowly destroyed the nation and can't own up to mistakes.  I'm scared for my future and my children's future...no one seems to think about the future, just here and now and what they want.  Can any one say last days??


Ok that was my soap box...the other morning we were sitting down to a nice big family Sunday breakfast before church.  I heard Lydia and went to go get her to join us.  To my dismay she was covered in poop...all over.  All over the crib, bedding, everywhere.  It looked like she was painting with it.  And I about died when I looked at her with her binki in her mouth with poop smeared around her mouth.  Gross!! 

She didn't seemed fazed by it, she seemed happy.  She went straight to the tub and I yelled for Jared who grabbed the camera then proceeded to strip her bed.  Ewwww! 

The blankets are covering the worst of it.  Of all my kids to have done this...it was my little princess.  That is so not a princess thing to do.  After lots of laundry, clorox we finally got it cleaned up.  What a crazy morning.  Let's just say she wore some full pjs the next few days, not 2 piece ones. :)  

Lucky 13

Jared and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary last month.  I can't believe it's been that long.  We are getting older. :)  I went through our pictures and there are no recent pics of us together, just us.  How sad is that?  There is always a kid, or one of us.  So this is a picture of where we were married so long ago.  A special place where I was sealed to my hubby forever. 

We have been through 2 BS degrees, 3 cars, 1 MS degree, 4 boys, 1 girl, 3 moves, 1 PhD, lots of road trips, lots of friends, laughter, lots of callings, miracles, heartache, and LOVE.  We've had our ups and downs, but mostly ups.  I'm so thankful for my marriage and that the Lord has a hand it.  Love you Jared!

Flag Football

Flag football came and went.  One of the top priorities once we moved was to find a flag football league.  Rees probably would never speak to me again if I didn't...it's his one passion.  I asked the other boys if they were interested, not realizing what I was getting myself into.  They all wanted to do it.  So lots of $, 3 different teams, lots of practices and lots of long Saturdays later we had a great season! 

 Luke right in the middle going for a block.  Luke kicked the ball some, and ran it some and of course got some flag pulls.  He enjoyed playing and met some friends.  

 

 Poor Lydia got dragged around to all the games and Tagg. 

 Rees was an older kid on his team and loved every minute of the game!  He played quarterback some and loved it.  He also played on the line offense and defense.  

 Here he is running the ball.  Rees' team actually won his division.  They were so excited!  Jared bless his heart braved the cold and rain on his last game to capture some on video.  The rest of us chickened out.

Darin was hilarious to watch.  I don't know if he knew exactly what was going on.  His coach was intense and funny.  Darin loved it though, he could push people around with a smile!

Darin got an award and certificate.  Rees' coach gave them a coupon for KK donuts.  Luke got some pats on the back. :)  They all loved it and they played hard and did their best.  I have a feeling I will be sitting through a lot of HS football games!
