Darin had his 5th Bday about a week ago. He was so excited to turn 5, because lots of his friends are 5 and he knows it means kindergarten! It was on a Sunday, so not much excitement. He chose to go out to dinner to BK the night before and we had fun doing that. We woke up early made him a breakfast then headed off to church. We sang to him in primary and he was cute. He raced home and couldn't wait to open his presents.

Opening his light saber, yes we already have 4, but he was very specific of which kind he needed that he didn't already have.
He was excited about his new Wii game, but I think Rees & Luke were more excited.

Here is Darin's ice cream cake. I attempted a DQ style cake, just ice cream. Darin hates cake and frosting, go figure. So we came up with this idea.
It was a little flawed but oh so delicious. Darin chose the ice cream flavors and chose caramel and crushed oreos for the middle filling and topping. Rees & Luke are already thinking of the possibilities for their Bdays.

It is so weird that he is 5 because he was born in Oregon, that's about how long we have been here. Darin is such a joy to have in our family. He is full of fun ideas and never ceases to talk it seems like. He is funny and social and we all love him dearly! Happy Birthday my Dares!

Happy Birthday big guy! I remember when you were born and when you mom told me she was expecting you. That cake sure looks yummy!
Graham couldn't get over the fact that they got to keep the knight costumes. It really was the highlight of the party for him.
